Sermon Notes –
- Biblical prophecy should…
- cause us to worship God
- drive us to read the Bible
- increase our hope and dissuade our anxiety
- encourage us to live faithfully
- Jesus does not want us to know exactly when He is coming, but he does want us to know what He expects we are to be doing while we expectantly await His coming.
- Watch out for impostors (13:5)
- Stay unalarmed (13:7)
- Be on your guard (13:9)
- Don’t worry about your speech (13:11)
- Flee the one who sets himself up as God (13:14)
- Pray (13:18)
- Don’t try to figure out the hour of Jesus’ return (13:32)
- Stay awake! (13:33;35;37)
- It is God’s job to return, it is ours to be found faithful
